Father and Two Sons Found Dead After Neighbour Hears Boy Screaming “Daddy, what are you doing to me”
A horrified neighbour was woken by children’s terrified screams and cries from a flat where two boys and their dad were found dead.
Sarah Dodman gave her harrowing account at the inquest into the deaths of Graham Anderson, 36, and his sons Jack, 11, and three-year-old Bryn.
Mr Anderson was found with a belt around his neck and the boys’ bodies were in their beds covered by duvets.
Miss Dodman was woken at about 5am by a loud thud on her bedroom wall, which was next to the boys’ room.
She said: “I could hear the older boy screaming, ‘what are you doing to me?’ It was exceptionally clear and he must have done it four or five times.”
She said there were a series of little bangs on the wall and screams which sounded like the older boy “flailing about”.
Miss Dodman said: “The little boy, who was scared, was crying – I don’t know how to describe it. The older boy’s scream was very loud.
“I just can’t really describe it, my stomach just clenched and I thought that’s not right.”
Miss Dodman said she thought the screaming had gone on for about an hour in the early hours of August 30 last year before she fell asleep.
The inquest heard that ex-truck driver Mr Anderson had been due to hand over the keys to the ground-floor flat in Tidworth, Wilts, after being evicted by the owners for not paying the rent.
He had won a custody battle for the boys with their mum, Victoria Jones, the inquest heard.
The deaths of Jack and Bryn were believed to be suspicious but the coroner is yet to hear evidence from the police or a pathologist.
David Ridley, coroner for Wiltshire and Swindon, said the inquest would look at the role of doctors and social services prior to the deaths of the two boys.
The bodies of the father and sons were found on September 1, 2012, as a prospective tenant was being shown around the flat by agent Denise Evans.
The Salisbury hearing was adjourned until today, when the coroner will hear evidence from a pathologist
