Nigerian Stock Exchange report Wednesday, 06 November, 2013: Value of transactions rise to about 5 billion
The value of transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) after Wednesday’s trading rose to 4, 927 billion in 4,579 deals, from N4, 155 billion recorded after Tuesday’s trading. The volume of transactions rose to 465.8 million after the day’s transactions, from 358.9 million after Tuesday’s transactions. The Exchange’s market capitalisation rose to 12.18 trillion from 11.95 trillion previously recorded. All Share Index (ASI) also rose to 38,125.18 on Wednesday, from 37,408.56 after Tuesday’s transactions. FO topped the gainers chart the day’s trading, gaining about N5.00 at the close of the day’s transactions. The firm’s share price rose from N86.32 to N90.63, recording a gain of N4.31. It was followed by UACN, which gained N3.27 closing at N69.15, up from N65.88. Cadbury was third on the top five gainers chart, achieving a N2.50 share price gain, to close at N58.50, up from N56.00. PRESCO came fourth, recording a share price gain of N0.89 and closed at N37.89 from N37.00. PZ also gained N0.34 and closed at N38.00 from N37.66 before trading. Oando topped the losers chart, again, with a N0.20 share price loss. The firm’s share price closed at N11.20 down from N11.40. The firm was followed by UAC-PROP, which lost N0.16, closing at N18.74 down from N18.90 before transactions. CCNN lost N0.14 and closed at N9.56 down from N9.70. IHC also lost N0.12 and closed at N2.65, down from N2.77 while Flour Mill’s share price closed at N84.00 down from N84.10, losing N0.10, after the trading session. WAPIC led the most traded shares chart, trading a volume of 106.3 million shares valued at N95.7 million. Zenith Bank also made the chart, transacting 91.6 million shares valued at N1.98 billion. ETI came third, trading 46.2 million shares valued at N644.1 million. Access Bank traded 43.4 million shares valued at N398.9 million while Transcorp traded 39.03 million shares valued at N75.9 billion.
