THE 2014 RECAP

In January Students went back to class after one of the longest ASUU strike in history but I know it will only be a matter of time before they gear up for another. Then came this Jonathan and Sanusi beef. Suspended from being CBN governor, then couple of months later he was crowned king. I didn't forget that Bisi girl that went all nude while dancing in that video, and yes we all saw it. Some of us even had it on replay. The moral of that story is; be careful who you fool around with. Billions of dollars went missing in the country. Where did money that big go? Davido's Aye song became a topic of discussion. A lot of folks said the lyrics were false. Some were sure he wasn't even talking about a Nigerian girl. But the dude had a good year though, bagging two MTV and one BET award. Bomb blast still rocked the country on series of occasions. From the Nation's capital, down to kano. The security of Nigerians should be seriously questioned. This has become a country where no one is safe. In April, we saw the abduction of over 200 girls up north, weeks fell of the calendar followed by months and no one knew where they were. Our security forces showed us the extent of their incompetence. The US marines stepped in the situation but it was a lost cause. Everyone protested from the local to the international community. #BringBackOurGirls was a new movement and topic of discussion on social media until the arrival of the World Cup. Then I saw this stupid hash tag that read #BringBackGoodluck. Stupid! We lost Dora Akunyili, Keefy the singer and then Chaz B. But nothing made more headlines and front page than the Boko Haram menace. I saw Mr President on CNN saying electricity in Nigeria has greatly improved. Maybe he was talking about Aso Rock because In my side of town, power supply was worse than ever. Medical doctors went on more strikes than anyone this year. The Ebola outbreak had us scared as hell but big up to the way it was tackled Wizkid dropped an album and M.I finally came back with his long awaited Chairman album. But my favorite though, was Asa's Bed of stone album. Then there was the tragedy that happened to the synagogue church building. I won't fail to mention the scandal that surrounded Pastor chris and his wife. The android phones blew up in Nigeria. Almost everyone bought it. I'll also keep in mind the sentencing of the 12 Nigerian soldiers in september. In sports, stephen keshi was sacked and later reinstated. Last year the super eagles won the african nations cup and this year they couldn't even make it to the tournament. I won't leave out the NFF Election crisis/FIFA ban I saw Patience Jonathan in tears in this video that went viral. It even had over one million views on youtube. Don't know if it was real or straight up acting. Did you see the APC presidential primary election? Now that's the way an election is suppose to be. But what I don't wanna see in 2015, is bloodshed and violence all in the name of Politics. Let's smarten up. With that being said, I conclude that this wasn't a good year for our nation so far. But it could get better. In 2015 we cast our ballot so vote your conscience and not for a couple of 1000 Naira bills. Till I come your way again, this is me signing off.Kay Have a Happy New Year
